The story so far

This Civic had spent years under trees with the sunroof left open. By the time I opened the door the ECU was sitting in water, the wheels had sunk into the ground, and parts of the turbo system looked to be missing. The seller wanted $2,000; with a dead engine and a long list of unknowns I offered $500 and bought it as a parts car. The D16Y7 and manual gearbox have 422,000 km behind them, which made reviving it sound almost absurd — which is exactly why it became one of the channel's main projects.
